The day I met a GREEN SNAKE (Marang Trail Hike)

Hiking is one of my recent hobbies in my quest to keep fit. One of my favorite hike is Marang Trail.

A few days ago, I was pacing up the steps towards Henderson Wave Bridge, I was walking so fast that I almost stepped onto a green thing that is protruding on the step, it is a thin green thing like 20cm above step level, making L-shape.  At first I thought was some green grass, until I saw the green snake head, I froze for a few seconds before I ran away.   (I ran too far away to be able to take a closer picture).   The snake is crossing the “road” to the other side.

Below details on doing the Marang Trail Hike:

Walking Time: Start walking from Mount Faber Safra via Marang Trail to Harbourfront MRT will take about 40 mins.

Preferred timing to do hike: About 9 am in the morning.

Walking along Henderson Road, after the Henderson Flyover, you will soon read Mount Faber Safra.  Walking with the flow of traffic, after Safra you will see a Basket Ball court.  There’s a sign “Mount Faber Park” pointing towards the flight of steps that will lead you to the Henderson wave.

Taking this flight of steps up is where I met the green snake….

At the end of this flight of stairs, you will see a small pavilion. Turn left.  There is a small road, walk down straight.

Soon you will see the words “Henderson Wave”.  Turn Left (Follow the direction on the signboard pointing to “Faber Point”, “Faber Park”.

Continue walking straight along this road (with the flow of traffic). You can see friendly animals like squirrels (see pic below).

There is a stretch of road under repair (in danger of soil corrosion.

You will see nice scenic views along the way.  Once you hit the end of the road, turn Left again. (Follow the direction of the signboard towards “Faber Peak” and “Harbourfront MRT”.   Just follow this road and walk down.  Soon you will

You will soon see the cable car on display.  A flight of colorful steps leading to the “Bell of Happiness”.

As you continue walking in the same direction, you will see “Faber Peak” (where you take the cable car to Sentosa).  You can see scenic views of Sentosa here as well.

As you continue to walk along the same road (opposite the traffic flow now), soon you see an open area with binoculars and scenic view.  On your left, you can see the “Marang Trail” (see pic below).

This is the start of the Marang Trail.  It is one-way trail to Harbourfront MRT, so you really cannot get lost.  But go with a friend, not alone.

This is the end of the Marang Trail.  At the end of the road, you will see Harbourfront MRT.  If you like, you can cross over the underpass to Vivo City for some aircon and shopping!

Enjoy!
